Bow ties with a purpose

The progress we made toward full marriage equality in 2013 is incredible. We took our case against Proposition 8 to the Supreme Court and won. Marriage equality is now the law of the land in 7 more states – including the nation’s most populous, California.

But what happens in 2014 depends on what happens now. We need to make sure we have the resources necessary to continue the incredible momentum we achieved this year for full marriage equality.

Today, I’m excited to announce a special opportunity. Tie The Knot was started last year by our good friends Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Justin Mikita. When you purchase one of their stylish bow ties, skinny ties, or cuff links, a portion of the proceeds supports AFER and our federal court case for marriage equality.

They are bow ties with a purpose. Make your purchase online at www.tiebar.com/JTF, or if you’re in Los Angeles, swing by their pop-up shop at the Beverly Center through January.

Any day now, we could hear about next steps for our federal court case in Virginia. We’re fighting for marriage equality because all couples should be able to tie the knot. Your purchase today will help make that a reality.
