SF Chronicle: Gays have political power, Prop. 8 defense says

Plaintiffs’ lawyer David Boies sought to portray Miller as a pliable witness who was being spoon-fed material by Prop. 8′s sponsors. At one point, the proceedings halted for almost 20 minutes while Miller combed his written report to check off which evidence he had found on his own – about half, a court document later indicated – and which he had gotten from the lawyers or for which he didn’t recall the source.

Miller sparred with Boies over whether Prop. 8 discriminated against same-sex couples – Miller acknowledged that it “treated them differently” but said he wasn’t sure whether it was legally discriminatory.
